education in all areas of society is key to acceptance, it is important that it be recognised that it is normal to have same-sex desires and relationships. we want to create a dialogue about lesbian art with the intention of altering the meaning systems which constitute public perception. we feel that there is a lack of critical theory concerning lesbian art and so through encouraging more participants in this field we hope to encourage a discousre. historically there has been a lack of accessible lesbian art work which is authentically made by lesbians exhibiting the lesbian gaze and depicting the lesbian lifestyle and experience.

we wish for society to understand lesbianism outside of simply sexual desire for another woman. a problem we have is defining what a lesbian gaze is. we hope that by encouraging a debate and showing alternative positions formulations of a lesbian gaze can begin. a desire we have is for others to have an informed opinion on the lesbian perspective of looking. we want to show what we find beautiful, what we are attracted to, the way we fit into society and the things that we desire.
